Mózg – Umysł – Religia

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to submit papers related to the subject matter of the 1st International  Brain.Mind.Religion Neuroscience and Religious Studies Conference. The papers will appear in Studia Religiologica, a peer-reviewed periodical published by the Institute for the Study of Religions, Jagiellonian University, and will constitute a conference proceedings volume.

Each submitted paper will be subject to an editorial procedure according to the guidelines established by the periodical's editorial staff. Please send the papers to: mozgumyslreligia@gmail.com (the message title should include the phrase „Publikacja_MUR2015"). Submissions deadline is 14th of June, 2015 – after the deadline all the papers will be submitted jointly to the periodical's editorial staff.

We invite all conference participants, as well as other authors interested in the subject matter, to submit their work!

Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Studia Religiologica is an academic periodical committed to the study of religions. It publishes research articles, review articles and book reviews representing all areas of the study of religions, encompassing the history of religions and comparative study of religions as well as phenomenology of religion, anthropology of religion, sociology of religion, psychology of religion, and philosophy of religion

THE REVIEW PROCESS:

1. The editor appoints at least two independent reviewers from outside the University to evaluate each publication.
2. Texts in foreign languages are reviewed by at least one reviewer affiliated to a foreign institution other than the institution of the author of the work under review.
3. Authors and reviewers must not know each other´s identities (the double blind review process).
4. The review must be in writing and must contain an explicit conclusion stating whether the article should or should not be accepted for publication.
5. The principles of evaluation are given in the "Instructions for authors".
6. The names of reviewers of particular publications or issues of journals are not revealed; the names of co-operating reviewers will be published by the journal on a yearly basis. 

INSTRUCTIONS  FOR  AUTHORS
Submission of a manuscript to Studia Religiologica implies that the contents are original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere. In the text must be accompanied by the following information about the author: name, degree or academic title, place of work, full address, email address and the corresponding author contribution statement.

Preliminary assessment of papers is carried out by the Editorial Staff. Once a paper has been accepted by the Editorial Staff, it is submitted for review to two independent reviews. The reviewers' reports provide the basis for the acceptance of the manuscript by the Editorial Staff.

Authors should submit manuscripts electronically (by e-mailing or on CD). The electronic copy of the manuscript can be prepared in any version of the well-known editors.

font: main text – Times New Roman 12

1.5 spacing versa

footnotes – Times New Roman10

single line spacing

Margins: left - 3 cm, the other 2,5 cm

Continuous page numbering

Footnotes to items in the text are placed at the bottom of the page
Use Latin abbreviations such as: op.cit. (in the work cited), ibidem (in the same place), idem (the same), eadem (the same).

Articles should contain a summary in English (up to 900 characters and spaces) and a list of key-words in English

GHOSTWRITING AND GUEST AUTHORSHIP
As "ghostwriting" are qualified cases in which someone has made a substantial contribution to publication, without revealing his participation as one of the authors, or without being mentioned in the acknowledgments enclosed to the publication. "Guest authorship" ("honorary authorship") are considered situations in which the authors contribution is insignificant, despite of declaration.

In order to prevent cases of scientific misconduct the Editorial Board introduced a procedure protecting against cases of "ghostwriting" and "guest authorship":
1. Authors are required to submit their publications with a declaration specifying contribution of individual authors to publications (with their affiliations and contributions, ie the information who is the author of concepts, principles, methods, etc. used in the publications). The main responsibility lies with the author submitting the publication (declaration template is available on the website of the Quarterly).
2. Authors are required to provide information about funding sources of the publication and contribution of research institutions, associations and other entities ("financial disclosure").
3. All detected cases of "ghostwriting" and "guest authorship" will be exposed, including notifying the appropriate entities (institutions employing the authors, science societies and associations, etc.).
4. All detected cases of scientific misconduct are documented.
